The Saen: the heart of Saendelft

September 2010 – During the design of the new residential area of Saendelft, water and green areas were major factors. Shops and schools are close to the houses. The shopping centre ‘De Saen’ is located in the heart of the new area. It was opened officially on 2 September 2010. De Saen houses shops, restaurants and cafes, a health centre and housing. Verzinkerij Wolvega galvanised the balcony frames, the fencing and the expanded metal. Poedercoating Wolvega then powder coated the fencing and the expanded metal. Centrizink Wolvega centrifuge-galvanised various mounting parts and other small parts.

Traditionally, Assendelft has always been a ribbon village with housing on either side of the central village street. The wide Kaaik canal runs in parallel, straight through the heart of Saendelft and past the brand new shopping centre De Saen. But the Kaaik is particularly important as the link between two new residential areas in Saendelft, Waterrijk and Parkrijk. De Saen is in the centre of Saendelft, where it is easily accessible for the residents from both areas.

Metal company Pompstra from Oldemarkt supplied steel structures, expanded metal, balcony frames and fencing for De Saen. Verzinkerij Wolvega hot-dip galvanised the balcony frames, the fencing and the expanded metal. And Poedercoating Wolvega powder coated the fencing and the expanded metal. Centrizink Wolvega centrifuge-galvanised various mounting parts and other small parts. So Verzinkerij Wolvega, Centrizink Wolvega and Poedercoating Wolvega have made a shared contribution to the heart of Saendelft.
